South America Trip
So I think I have hit a wall. Up until now, most of the online resources we have been using I have been fairly familiar with or they are in a format that was familiar. Over the past few days, I have been trying to embed my custom map into my blog- a lovely map showing my 10 week trip around South America in 2012, but I have failed. Here is a link to the map.
I have worked out how to enable a map of South America onto my blog, but I cannot work out how put my customised one. I tried using some HTML code that we learnt in class, but that didn't work, and looked on many, many forums and blogs, who all seem to be able to do it, but I can't. I even ended up on Google's developer site which was explaining quite clearly how to do it, unfortunately I just don't know what an API key is! I think I am going to have to go home and ask Dad how to do it. But I did discover the way to write blog posts in "HTML" on Blogger, and have written most of this post using what we learnt in class. Can't say I would do it all the time, but it's a new bit of knowledge.
Here is a screenshot of the map:
And for the time being you can look at my Flickr account (anniewright64) for a few photos such as these ones (and some ones from America, London and the Dominican Republic). I don't know how to only embed one photo but hey, I'm proud that I managed to do it at all! -

I love your description of your trials and tribulations! And it is pretty impressive that you wrote your blog in HTML, you have inspired me to give it a go as well. The journey and the learning is the most important bit, right? I feel like I have learnt a lot so far, even when I feel like I am struggling with something.

DeleteOh Anna you overestimate my abilities! It was the simplest of coding. I really only wrote the open and close paragraph bits- which blogger won't let me write in a comment because it says that my code it not valid! Most of the rest was copied from Flickr and Google Maps when I wanted to cope the code to embed their sites!
